Meet Tara

On leaving school, Tara studied childcare in Portobello, where she gained her Childcare and Montessori Teaching qualifications. In 2018 Tara started a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care with Carlow IT Wexford.

Tara love’s working with children. Her passion is to see children of all abilities to achieve their best and grow up to be strong, confident and kind.

Our Team

Kelly

I am currently studying a Postgraduate Practice Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills with the National University of Ireland, Galway. I have Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am passionate about my field and enjoy working with the children, encouraging their interests, learning and development. I enjoy working in Firefly Daycare. I am predominantly in the outdoor preschool and after-school rooms. As a staff unit I feel that each of our members are supportive of each other and are there to lend a hand whenever and wherever needed.

Grace

I have a FETAC level 6 in childcare. I previously worked in a play-school for 8 years. I have ten children of my own.

Firefly Daycare is a lovely place to work, theres always a happy atmosphere. The ladies here are friendly, caring and approachable to both children and adults.

Clare

I am a qualified level 5 childcare assistant, and in the process of completing my level 6 qualifications. I have been working in childcare for the past 6 years.

I joined the firefly’s team 6 months ago. I believe it has been the right decision for me, it has helped me grow as a person, I feel valued and I continue to learn everyday. Working with children has always been my passion, and the girls I work with make that a little easier everyday.

Caroline

I have completed level 5 & 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education. I have completed numerous other courses through CPD. I have worked in childcare since 2015 and I love what I do. I have three daughters ranging from 15 to 11 months.

Working at Firefly is an amazing experience.

Kirsty

I have worked here for over a year now and really enjoy working with a great team, along with all the amazing little children I am blessed to get to mind.

I have been qualified in childcare for over a year now and previously worked with children with intellectual disabilities. I have 5 young children of my own and enjoy working alongside children and helping them to flourish to their full potential.

Sharon

I have 2 children they are 8 and 6. I have a level 5 qualification in healthcare, I have years of experience in babysitting / childminding.

I am in second year in level 8 early childhood education and care.

Jenny

I am from a big household,I’m the oldest of 6. I am now a mother of two girls aged 2 years and my youngest is 5months. I have been qualified in childcare for four years. I have worked in Firefly Childcare for almost four years now with a great bunch of girls so it creates a lovely atmosphere for both staff and children. I love working with children of all ages, at the moment I am in the baby room and loving every day. Working at firefly’s childcare is interesting, no two days or no two children are the same, it is rewarding to witness the children’s growth and development.

I was very nervous being a first time mammy leaving my baby Girl with people I didn't know for the first time after maternity leave. Straight away all the ladies put me at ease and Ellie was full of smiles from the morning straight through to the evening.I get all the details from Ellies day from sleep, food and nappies.I know they treat my daughter as if she is their own.

My son attends Tara's firefly daycare I couldn't recommend Tara and her staff enough it's a home from home for any little people that attend Tara goes above and beyond to ensure all kids are well cared for I also love how kids get to experience playing outdoors nothing makes me happier knowing I can leave my son and he's so happy to go in all the staff are one in a million.

Tara Finn's firefly daycare is a very important and valuable service in our community. I personally would not be able to go back to work without Tara's service and I have family members that think the same. Tara's service is not only valuable in our community for the parents but for the children to be around their friends from the village or hurling pitch is so important for their social development. My children both have attended and are attending at the minute and I couldn't imagine having anyone else looking after them, they have grown so much, socially, emotionally and so much more. I would be lost without Tara's service.
