Outdoor Play

Our ECCE is fully outdoor, where we have an extensive outdoor play area, which includes a large playing field, this is used by children of all ages. Each room has it’s own outdoor space as our little people love the outdoors. They will learn to “Shine in their own time”.

We provide a home from home environment in a rural location. Firefly is in operation since April 2022 as a full day care service.

Our aim is to provide an inclusive environment where children of all abilities are given the freedom to learn and develop at their own pace, enabling them to become physically and socially independent, happy and confident children.

Our priority here, after the basic needs/care of the child is their social emotional wellbeing. What is Social Emotional wellbeing? Social emotional wellness is a person’s ability to understand and manage their emotions, make responsible decisions, build and maintain relationships, and understand and empathise with others. This is our focus for all children, we aim to achieve this by creating an environment where children will relax, play, learn and flourish. Our staff are highly trained to develop the needs of each individual child.

Playing Area

Indoors there is a Baby Room, Toddler Room, ECCE room and After School Room all set in a homely environment with the very best facilities to nurture and encourage children. Our staff are highly trained with over 60 years experience working in childcare.

Outbound Area

The outdoor space has mud kitchens, sand pits, slides, climbing apparatus, a tree house, farm shed, a stage, music wall, dinosaur pit, construction yard, fields for nature walks and an open playing field for children to run and play to their hearts content.

Each Room

Children are encouraged to mix with others, try new things and discover their talents. All procedures and protocols are followed and Firefly Daycare is registered with Tusla and we offer ECCE and NCS schemes.

Tara Finn's firefly daycare is a very important and valuable service in our community. I personally would not be able to go back to work without Tara's service and I have family members that think the same. Tara's service is not only valuable in our community for the parents but for the children to be around their friends from the village or hurling pitch is so important for their social development. My children both have attended and are attending at the minute and I couldn't imagine having anyone else looking after them, they have grown so much, socially, emotionally and so much more.
